Woomera Firefighter
Our Rescue & Fire Fighting (RFF) services currently extend from stations in WA, SA, VIC, NSW and QLD. Due to the evolving nature of this contract, we are currently employing a Firefighter in our Urban Fire and Rescue operations at Woomera.
The Role:
All positions will require the successful applicants to work a 7 on / 7 off roster with an average of 38.5 hours per week.
The successful Fire-Fighter will respond to incidents as required and perform duties as directed by the Station Officer, Sub-Station Officer and Leading Firefighter.
Please note this is not a Fly-in, Fly-out role. You must be willing to relocate to the local area. We will consider applicants who may want to drive-in, drive-out from other South Australian localities.
You must be an Australian citizen and able to maintain a Department of Defence Security Clearance to Apply.
Skills and Experience:
The following minimum qualifications are required:
- PUA20613 Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations) and incorporate the following Units of Competency.
- PUAFIR215 Prevent Injury
- PUAFIR203B Respond to urban fire
- PUAFIR207B Operate Breathing Apparatus (Open Circuit)
- PUAEQU001B Prepare, Maintain and test Response Equipment
- PUATEA001B Work in a Team
- PUAOPE002B Operate Communication Systems and Equipment
- HLTAID002 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
- PUASAR022A Participate in a rescue operation
- PUATEA002B Work Autonomously
- PUACOM001C Communicate in the Workplace
- PUAFIR204B Respond to Wildfire
- PUALAW001B Protect and Preserve Incident Scene
- HLTAID003 Provide first aid
- PUAFIR309B Operate Pumps
- PUAVEH001B Drive Vehicles under operational conditions
- PUAOHS002B Maintain Safety at an Incident
- Hold a current HR drivers licence
- Highly desirable to hold or have the ability to obtain Cert II in Emergency Medical First Response (Ambulance)
