About the role:
As our Work Health and Safety Manager for our Sydney Roads Asset Performance Contract you will lead a team and work with the project leadership team to establish and operationalise the H&S Strategy, champion a culture of care for people and environment and deliver quality outcomes.
This will include aligning divisional H&S strategies to sector goals and objectives, overseeing management of project management systems and frameworks, providing support and leadership to operational teams.
Based from our Arndell Park office with onsite parking as well as out on site face to face with our clients and workforce.
What you’ll be doing:
- Promote development of strong safety culture to support a safe and caring working environment and excellence in quality outcomes.
- Work collaboratively across transport operations and lead the safety agenda with competing stakeholder priorities.
- Actively train and coach the sector leadership team and project staff in LWT, LED and CRPs.
- Drive compliance to meet client expectations supporting operational teams to manage critical risk controls and provide oversight on risk mitigation.
- Monitor and drive workers compensation/injury management and early intervention performance.
- Oversee the Ventia Business Continuity framework and crisis management planning for the sector.
- Lead incident reviews, assurance and audit planning and execution reviewing and monitoring project performance deidentifying trends and opportunities for improvement across projects ensuring compliance.
- Provide expert advice and solutions, oversee project development management and governance planning and embedment of safety management systems.
About you:
- Relevant qualifications within OHS, Engineering, Science or related discipline.
- Proven client relationship management skills and a passion for continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated people management skills.
- Exceptional communications skills with the ability to influence and partner at a variety of levels including leadership and operational stakeholders.
- Exposure to leading Health and Safety outcomes within heavy industry construction or transport sector.
- Ability to translate Health and Safety elements of sector strategy into implementable actions for projects.
- Experience with ICAM.
