Warehouse Storeperson


Ventia proudly provide clothing and personal equipment services to the Australian Defence Force, applying 30 years of expert knowledge to meet its unique functional needs. Specific service offerings include inventory management, issue and sale of Defence clothing items, combat uniforms and equipment; specialist kitting activities for training, exercises and operational requirements; standard and bespoke tailoring services; manufacture of name tags; court mounting of medals, miniatures and ribbon bars.
 
We’re on the hunt for the next reliable Storeperson to join our dynamic team at one of the largest AUS Defence Sites based in Townsville, QLD on a full-time basis. You will play a key role in receiving and managing stock, ensuring smooth operations, and keeping the store in top condition.
 
What We Offer:
•    Full time Permanent Position – Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Use the computer system to track stock quantities and locations.
•    Operate machinery, including forklifts, to move goods safely OR be willing to obtain a forklift license.
•    Ensure proper custody of inventory by conducting regular stock checks, monitoring quantities, assessing equipment for deterioration, tracking shelf life expiration, and ensuring the security of all items.
•    Assist with general store duties, including packing and scheduling.
•    Perform regular cleaning tasks to keep the store tidy and organised.
•    Face-to-face customer service

About You:
•    A valid forklift license is desirable.
•    Experience in warehousing or store environments is beneficial.
•    Excellent customer service and communication skills.
•    Computer literate with advanced skills in Microsoft Suite
•    Experience with systems such as MILIs will be highly regarded
•    Comfortable working with Defence personnel and other stakeholders.
•    Your own transport and a valid driver’s license are required.

To be considered for this position, you must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence clearance. You will also be required to successfully complete an Australian Federal Police Check and Medical Pre-Employment Checks as stipulated by the contract.
