Training and Development Manager


Are you a highly organised, detail-oriented professional with a passion for training and development? Join Ventia as a Training and Development Manager and support the SAPMICM (South Australian Prisoner Movement and In-Court Management) training function. You will ensure training activities and refresher schedules meet compliance standards, track training compliance, manage scheduling, and deliver programs with a focus on continuous improvement.

This is a permanent full-time position based at our Cavan office, with short periods of intrastate travel to sites across South Australia, as required.

The responsibilities of the position include but not limited to:

  • Coordinate and deliver the SAPMICM 5-week initial training course (ITC) ensuring compliance with RTO standards, SAPMICM contractual and Ventia business requirements.
  • Manage and report on workforce training compliance data, including qualifications, competencies, expiry dates, and supporting documentation, ensuring accuracy in the Learning Management System (LMS) and scheduling and delivery of refresher training as necessary.
  • Research, schedule and coordinate training with preferred suppliers to achieve cost-effective outcomes with minimal disruption to operations, while monitoring training progress and addressing underperformance.
  • Assist with internal and external audit preparations to ensure ongoing compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

Skills & Experience:
To succeed in this position, you will need exceptional organisational, time management, and stakeholder management skills, alongside a keen attention to detail and the ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure. 

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Required) 
  • Certificate III in Correctional Practice (Required)
  • Willing to undertake pre-employment checks including but not limited to: Police check, WWCC, and medical questionnaire.
  • Able to obtain and maintain relevant security clearances/checks.
  • Able to obtain and maintain First Aid accreditation. (HLTAID003 Provide First Aid)
