Technical Supervisor


Ventia is a leading infrastructure services company, operating across Australia and New Zealand. Our clients are the owners and operators of assets that are critical to our local communities.

In partnership with the Australian Defence Force and supporting our Defence Maintenance Contract (DMC), Ventia is currently seeking a Technical Supervisor at Bandiana Defence Base.

The Technical Supervisor role will involve the leadership and supervision of electronic technicians to achieve maintenance outcomes for performance, quality, compliance, and safety. This position requires a hands-on leader who will manage workflows, resources, man hours, repair times, schedules, and task completion to ensure that work is completed efficiently and within the required timeframes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervision of electronic technicians and the work being undertaken to ensure it meets the requirements.
  • Liaising with relevant stakeholders and contractors to allocate resources effectively.
  • Managing work group, workflow, man hours, repair times, schedules, and task completion to ensure efficient operations and timely project delivery.
  • Leading scheduled inspections and ensuring compliance with Ventia’s safety protocols.
  • Incident investigation and reporting.
  • Establishing and maintaining effective communication with the management team to develop and maintain efficient working procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with Ventia and contract-specific quality assurance and safety programs.
  • Administrative duties, including induction for new employees, entering training records, approving leave, and maintaining attendance records.
  • Lead and provide development and training support to employees. This includes identifying training gaps and reporting to the Site Manager.

About You:

  • Electronics trade background with relevant experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership and managing a team of electronic technicians or simmilar.
  • Holding a Certificate III in Electro-technology and Communication or in a similar electronics discipline
  • Certificate IV in Trade and/or Management/Training is highly desirable.
  • MILIS/SAP experience is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, strong interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated ability to coach and lead work teams.
  • You must be an Australian citizen and able to maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
