Supplier Relationship Manager

About the role:  

As our Supplier Relationship Manager, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining strategic relationships with our suppliers to enhance procurement effectiveness, assist in implementing transformation and drive business success. 

The role encompasses identifying new suppliers, optimising supplier performance and aligning supplier activities with operational needs. 

You will be a strategic individual with exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills with a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics.

Flexible on office location with options to base from any of our Australian state head offices. Preference for Sydney or Melbourne however open for the right applicant. Hybrid working enviornment splitting your time in the office and work from home.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Identify and evaluate potential new suppliers to diversify the supply base and conduct engagement with business units to understand future strategies and emerging markets to ensure alignment with our supplier capabilities.
  • Develop and implement effective go to market strategies that maximise market impact establishing contractor pools to ensure flexibility and responsiveness to business needs and goals.
  • Review contracts and precontract pipelines to identify supplier requirements ensuring compliance.
  • Lead negotiations in partnership with our contract management team.
  • Supplier performance management through, ensuring compliance, continuous improvement, ongoing audits and tracking of relevant metrics.
  • Analysis of procurement processes to identify cost savings, negotiate for better pricing terms and proposing new ideas for solutions to enhance engagement and reduce overall costs.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and market conditions to inform decision making and mitigate risks and improvement opportunities.

About you:

  • Degree qualified within a relevant discipline, business, supply chain, commercial or similar.
  • Demonstrated experience within supply relationship management and procurement within a complex environment.
  • Analytical individual proficient in mapping workflows that identify improvements. 
  • Exceptional relationship building and communication skills both written and verbal able to partner with various levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Well-developed knowledge of project management, transformation and change management.
  • Facilitation skills able to develop workshops and discussions among diverse groups.
  • Proficiency with procurement technologies and tools that support transformation.
  • Leadership experience championing a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
