Spatial Data Team Leader


Ventia is a leading infrastructure services company, operating across Australia and New Zealand. Our clients are the owners and operators of assets that are critical to our local communities. 

Ventia have a long partnership with Australian Defence and provide a variety of infrastructure maintenance for the bases across Australia. As such we are seeking a Spatial Data Team leader, to lead our team of Spatial Coordinators who ensure all project spatial data deliverables are compliant with Defence Standards/specifications.  

We are offering

Duties:

  • Lead the Spatial Coordinator team.
  • Lead in the spatial data collection and analysis function.
  • Ensure spatial data compliance and oversee the review, validate and upload processes for Project Asset Data 
  • Oversee the extraction of spatial data from Defence Information Systems to assist with the delivery of Defence Estate Works projects
  • Assist with the training of staff and stakeholders in the use of Defence systems to access and update relevant spatial information.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to establish feedback loops on spatial data validation effectiveness.
  • Asset validation, aligning GEMS data with spatial plans 
  • Document control 
  • Project close-out

About You

  • Tertiary qualifications in construction, design, engineering, surveying or similar experience 
  • Previous experience using AutoCAD. 
  • Prev Exp using Defence applications e.g NIMS, GEMS, Objective desirable but not required
  • Other GIS applications such ESRI is desirable 
  • Understanding of National Construction Code and Australian Standards.
  • Ability to read and comprehend architectural plans.
  • High level of computer skills including Excel / Word / Outlook & Ms Teams & sharepoint
  • Australian Citizen
