The Opportunity: Join a High-Impact NBN Project Team in Canberra!

Are you ready to take on a pivotal role in one of Australia’s most important infrastructure initiatives? We’re assembling a brand-new team in Canberra, ACT, and we're seeking four experienced Site Supervisors to lead multi-disciplinary trade crews on a major 3–4 year NBN upgrade project.

This hands-on role focuses on site-based supervision, ensuring safety, compliance, and quality across all civil and cable hauling activities. You’ll authorise excavation works, monitor progress, and ensure smooth, safe operations throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate site walkouts, planning, and scoping to ensure efficient construction aligned with plans and schedules.
  • Lead subcontractors in executing approved site works.
  • Conduct monthly compliance and critical control checks.
  • Maintain plant, equipment, and vehicles per corporate safety standards.
  • Prepare for and attend Construction Reviews with the Area Supervisor.
  • Rectify construction defects promptly and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Liaise with Site Engineers to ensure timely availability of materials and escalate shortages.
  • Perform daily site checks including permits, audits, environmental controls, and traffic management.
  • Engage with clients and community stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain satisfaction.
  • Promote innovative solutions that enhance project outcomes and profitability.
  • Foster a positive team culture focused on safety, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead by example in safety practices, swiftly addressing incidents and sharing learnings.

About you:

  • Trade qualification or equivalent industry experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in site supervision and effective subcontractor management is essential.
  • Prior experience in NBN or telecommunications projects is essential.
  • Experience in a similar field-based role highly regarded.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and Before You Dig Australia (BYDA) documentation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
