Seniors Contracts Administrator - Telecommunications


About the Role

are seeking an experienced Senior Contracts Administrator within our Telecommunications, ODM contract.

This is a Permanent Full-time position that can be located out of Victoria, Sydney or Brisbane with a hybrid home and office working model.

Reporting to our Telco Operations & Services Senior Commercial Manager with oversight of our NBN ODM Contract and NBN Field Contract (non-Network/Services scopes), this position has responsibility for both client and supply chain commercial  management in a positive and collaborative environment. 

The role will interact closely with the broader delivery team to optimise project performance across all areas and is a member of the Telco commercial leadership team.

More specifically the role entails:

  • Commercial leadership and mentoring, with line management responsibilities
  • Key commercial representative with the supply chain and clients to work through commercial matters
  • Lead, prioritise and deliver the contract administration responsibilities to achieve strong and compliant outcomes
  • Act as a source of advice and as a sounding board for the contract teams
  • Creation of a ‘no surprises’ and ‘continuous improvement’ culture leveraging commercial opportunities, from pre-tender through to demobilisation
  • Facilitate delivery of financial and contractual outcomes working closely with the other contract leaders
  • Administration of compliant notices including potential contract impacts, variations, and latent conditions, and lead in strategic resolution of contractual disputes and notices
  • Management and identification of commercial claims (opportunities & threats), including assessment of entitlement, pricing, contract variation mechanism compliance, and consultation with corporate teams, to achieve optimal outcomes
  • Lead subcontractor onboarding activities from strategy, through commercial negotiations and subsequent supply chain management

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Law, Business Management, Finance or similar with experience working in Contracts Administration / Commercial Management ideally within the Telecommunications industry.

You will also possess:

  • Experience of driving and delivering successful outcomes on strategic client and supply chain contracts
  • Proven commercial acumen: subcontract management / tendering, legal claims, administration, modelling, KPIs, profit improvement
  • Exceptional people management and proactive communication skills with all stakeholders internally and externally
  • A solutions focus and the initiative to identify, drive and take ownership of key deliverables whilst working collaboratively in a team
  • Working knowledge of standard forms of construction contracts and mechanisms, contract law, flow throughs, ability to negotiate terms within provided parameters, and manage associated risks
