Senior Project Engineer


Ventia requires a Senior Project Engineer and a Project Engineer to join their Transport Sector in Stapylton. The roles are responsible for managing and maintaining Road Assets in the South Coast Queensland Region, along with development of future work winning opportunities within the region.

About the Roles
You will be responsible to deliver road construction projects to high HSE standards and within program, budget and quality requirements. The roles demand a strong focus on leadership to achieve the required outcomes providing high performance standards. You are directly accountable for delivering specific projects, liaising with clients and influencing project outcomes. 

A strong focus is placed on project delivery and coordination including compliance to Project Management Plans, engineering compliance, QA, 2 week lookahead, procurement and resource management, daily and monthly cost reporting, forecasting, head contract claim preparation and certifications and coordinating with all stakeholders, local community and subcontractors. 

A flexible approach to working hours is necessary to facilitate the delivery of the project work during closures and interfaces with operational periods and from time to time will including working at night (split shift scenario).

Technical responsibilities include project scope development and documentation, preparing design briefs, constructability reviews, estimation support, tenders/pricing, project and contract management, delivery and supervision and verification of completed works. Compliance to statutory, contractual and company requirements for all projects.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor degree Civil Engineering or other relevant degree
  • Project Management degree (desirable for Senior Project Engineer)
  • Experience in traffic management and traffic guidance scheme (TMD qualification desirable)
  • Ability to work autonomously, lead by example and foster strong business relationships
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Roadworks and pavement construction experience
  • Ability to analyse project performance data, produce reports accurately reflecting performance across all KPIs and metrics
