Senior Emergency Response Trainer
Ventia have over 35 years’ experience working with Defence and providing Firefighting Services. With a new contract awarded in 2024 to provide 6 +2 +2 years. Now is the time to join Ventia’s Fire Services; we are currently seeking a Senior Emergency Response Trainer to join the Fire and Rescue operations based in Brisbane.
Responsibilities include but not limited to
- Design, develop, and deliver emergency response training programs, with a focus on contractual requirements.
- Develop departmental-specific curriculum guidelines consistent with national legislation, best practices, and program implementation.
- Support the development of assessment tools to ensure appropriate systems, governance, and processes are in place to manage ongoing skills and
- competency maintenance.
- Develop methods and assessment tools for the recognition of prior learning and criteria for their application.
- Contribute at a state and national level to the development of training curriculum, learning guides, and assessment procedures for emergency response topics.
- Oversee the Fire Development Program and facilitate successful succession planning for the department's fire management needs.
- Coordinate and deliver formal training across various locations in Australia.
- Support Fire Crews with planning and facilitating team training activities in line with emergency scenarios and drills.
- Support the training team with mapping and verifying qualifications through the LMS system, including regular reporting and auditing of individual profiles.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with operational and emergency procedures documents as required.
Skills and Experience
- Background in firefighting and first aid capability to assist with knowledge regarding within the training and assessment requirements
- Evidence matrix of skills and competencies to support fire fighting background
- Familiar with emergency services and operational excellence practices
- Experience in training and people management
- Experience in high-risk and diverse emergency response organizations is highly desirable.
Qualifications
- You must supply evidence of the following qualifications with your application. The following minimum qualifications are required:
- PUA50120 Diploma of Public Safety (Emergency Management)
- PUA30622 Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations)
- TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Diploma of Vocational Education & Training desirable)
- PUAFIR205 Respond to aviation incident (specialist)
- PUAFIR305 Respond to aviation incidents (general)
- HLTAID014 Provide Advanced First Aid or higher qualification
- Valid Drivers License
- Must be able to maintain a defence baseline security clearance, as a result the successful incumbent must be an Australian Citizen.
