Retail Store Manager


The Opportunity

An exciting leadership opportunity has just become available at our Williamtown Defence Clothing Store! Step into a dynamic role where you'll lead a passionate team of retail and seamstress professionals. You'll be at the helm, ensuring the smooth operation of the National Clothing Store Services, driving success across all aspects of the store, and making sure every detail aligns with contract requirements, Defence standards, and Ventia policies.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing the operational management of the allocated store site, including performance monitoring, compliance with Defence policy, and ensuring financial and commercial success.
  • Lead a high-performing team, ensuring service consistency across all sites and meeting contractual obligations.
  • Manage service delivery for the Joint Logistics Unit (JLU), address issues, and drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Collaborate with Ventia and Defence stakeholders, foster a culture of customer and shareholder value, and promote a diverse, inclusive work environment.
  • Uphold company values and policies, while actively participating in performance reviews and business improvement initiatives.

About you:

  • Must be an Australian Citizen and eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Clearance.
  • 2-3 years of experience leading or supervising teams in a comparable environment.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with multiple stakeholders.
  • A collaborative and consultative approach to working with others.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and deliver seamless, value-driven service.
  • Experience in a logistics environment is highly regarded.
  • Experience within the Defence sector is also highly valued.
  • Experience in performance management and reporting.
  • Strong written communication and IT skills.
