Project Manager - Pavements
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Operations Manager, our Project Manager will be accountable for the delivery of a rolling program of pavement improvement projects across the Sydney Roads and Asset Performance contract. This includes managing budgets, all facets of risk throughout the project lifecycle, promoting a strong team culture with high standards of safety, environment and quality control as well as building strong relationships with the client and wider stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Accountabilities:
Ensure projects are delivered on time, to budget and in line with contractual and business requirements by;
- Developing, Implementing and manage detailed construction programs using MS projects, excel and P6.
- Develop and implement detailed construction staging and methodologies.
- Develop, review and implement project budgets, track, update and report actual costs and forecasts.
- Identify and submit any contractual claims, including variations, EOT’s delays, etc.
- Identify resource requirements for projects including identifying any skills gaps and suggesting training requirements.
- Promote good employee relation’s attitudes and practices and attend to sensitive issues as they arise and inform the Operations Manager of potential problems.
- Negotiate and approve the selection of subcontractors, issue environmental improvement notices, stop work and require environmental controls and/ or restoration works to be implemented.
- Review and report on the effectiveness of environmental controls and infrastructure.
Could you be our next Project Manager?
- Tertiary Qualifications in Civil Engineering and Project Management is advantageous.
- Experience in road maintenance and network management, including managing network maintenance teams – internal employees and sub-contractors.
- Demonstrated understanding of pavement types, standard surfacing, and asphalting practices.
- Understanding of Road Management Act, Road Management Plan, and inspection works.
- Excellent analytical and report writing skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, outstanding interpersonal, relationship building and problem-solving skills.
- Confident and positive individual who can drive a good culture within their team.
- Hold a valid c class driving license.
- General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
