Oakey Firefighter Early/Late

With over 35 years’ experience working with Defence and with the recently awarded 6-year Firefighting Services contract, 2024 is an exciting time to join Ventia.  In support of this newly awarded contract, Ventia are seeking a Firefighter to join their Fire and Rescue operations at the Army Aviation Centre in Oakey, QLD. 
 About the role  

This exciting position will see you work as part of a team of Firefighters who will be responsible for responding to incidents including airfield, structural and bushfire management.  You will perform duties as directed by the Station & Sub Station Officers including but not limited to: 

  • Maintaining operational readiness in accordance with relevant procedures. 
  • Ensuring that all relevant administrative duties associated with operational duties are performed. 
  • Complying with operational health and safety requirements.  

The position will require the successful applicant to work on an early/ late roster cycle: 

Early roster, Monday to Friday, 0700 – 1400. 
Late roster, Monday to Friday, 1400 – 2330. 
Special conditions: 
Eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance up to a level of negative vetting 1 (secret). As a result of this requirement the incumbent must be an Australian Citizen 
Australian Federal Police check. 
Ability to successfully pass an ARRFF pre-employment medical.
