Do you want to work alongside one of Australia’s top-performing coal-fired power stations? Millmerran is a leader in the industry, processing 11,000 tonnes of coal daily. Ventia provides operational and preventative maintenance services to the Millmerran Power Station, which generates 870MW of electricity, powering over 1 million homes. 
Ventia’s contract was successfully renewed in September 2024, ensuring stable and ongoing work. We’re looking for two skilled Mechanical Fitters to join the team and ensure the plant runs smoothly through hands-on maintenance and equipment replacements. Want to make the most of your work-life balance? This is a full-time opportunity with a flexible 4 days on, 3 days off roster.

Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Perform online and offline maintenance inspections and testing on plant equipment
  • Follow maintenance procedures and recommend revisions when necessary
  • Carry out minor plant isolation and operation
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and troubleshooting on plant equipment
  • Replace and/or repair existing plant equipment
  • Utilise the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to create, manage, and complete work orders
  • Please note: This role is based on-site at the Millmerran Power Station. For fatigue management reasons, the successful candidate must reside within a 1-hour drive of Millmerran or be willing to relocate (at their own expense).

About You:
 

  • Certificate 3 in Mechanical Fitting or Equivalent
  • Demonstrated industry experience – 2+ Years
  • White Card
  • Australian Drivers Licence
  • Engineering or Mechanical Maintenance background (Desirable)
  • Previous experience in Coal and Ash handling or similar environment (highly desirable)
  • Confined Spaces Training, Working at Heights Training, Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Ticket, High Risk Licence (desirable) 
  • High focus on safety and an exceptional safety record in the industry
