The Role
Venita is currently recruiting for a Logistics Operator Level 5 Supervisor to be responsible for the management of a military store. Carry out operations as assigned including managing client relationships, safety, environmental, productivity, quality and progress in order to achieve contract performance. This role will see you based at RAAF Edinburgh in a permanent, fulltime position.

Responsibilities will include, but not limited to

  • Manage a small team of Logistic Operators
  • Implement quality procedures within your team
  • Ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Apply a degree of judgment, initiative and flexibility to resolve day-to –day difficulties within your area of responsibility 
  • Prepare and reconcile regular reports of stock movement and dispatches
  • Ensure store procedures are carried out in accordance with Defence policy
  • Detail and co-ordinate activities of team members
  • Issue and Receipt equipment from customers
  • Assist in the provision of on-the-job training and new employee inductions
  • Utilise the MILIS system as required
  • Manage the stocktaking of stores and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean working environment within the stores and warehousing areas. 
  • Exercise good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Receive customer queries 
  • Advise Management of any issue which may affect service delivery or Client relationships.
  • Ensure contractual obligations are met with respect to service delivery IAW procedures and instructions.

Skills and Experience

  • C-Class Drivers Licence.
  • Experience in a similar stores/supervisor role
  • Able to work individually or in a team environment under general supervision.
  • High Risk licensed and proficient in forklift operations.
  • Well-developed computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Results focused with the ability to identify and prioritise problems and issues, generate solutions and work collaboratively to achieve a successful outcome.
  • Previous Defence experience in an Defence Store an advantage
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with a high degree of motivation, energy, initiative and commitment, with the capacity to deal with multiple and often conflicting priorities.
  • The incumbent to this role must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance up to the level of Negative Vetting Level 1.  
  • As a result of this requirement the incumbent must be an Australian Citizen.
