Grounds Person Pest Technician

We are currently seeking a Grounds Person to support our Defence Base Services contract at Anglesea Barracks, Tasmania. Reporting to the Environmental Services Supervisor, you will be expected to conduct a variety of grounds maintenance activities including the following:
- Ride on mowing
- Tractor slashing and chainsaw operation
- Small powered plant operation including but not limited to brush cutting, leaf blowing, edging, hedge trimming, pressure washing.
- Perform minor planned maintenance activities and inspections on plant and machinery
- Herbicide spraying
- Management of pest and vermin.
About you:
- Qualifications in Horticulture or relevant years of experience.
- Experience in Environmental Grounds Maintenance.
- Experience/qualification in the use of grounds maintenance machinery such as: ride on mowers, tractors, brush cutters, chainsaw etc.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Agricultural Chemical Application Certificate is desirable or knowledge of chemical usage.
- Sound problem solving, organising and time management skills.
