Ventia have over 35 years’ experience working with Defence and have provided ongoing Firefighting Services, with a new contract awarded in 2024 to provide 6 +2 +2 years. Now is the time to join Ventia’s Fire Services; we are currently seeking a Firefighter to join the Fire and Rescue operations at Bandiana, VIC

About the role  
This exciting position will see you work as part of a team of Firefighters who are responsible for responding to incidents including airfield, structural and bushfire management. You will perform duties as directed by the Station & Sub Station Officers including but not limited to: 

  • Maintaining operational readiness in accordance with relevant procedures. 
  • Ensuring that all relevant administrative duties associated with operational duties are performed. 
  • Complying with operational health and safety requirements.  
  • Undertaking training and drills as required to maintain operational readiness.

The position will require the successful applicant to work on an early/late roster cycle: 

  • Early roster, Monday to Friday, 0700 – 1400. 
  • Late roster, Monday to Friday, 1400 – 2330. 

Special conditions: 
To be eligible for this role, you must be able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance up to a level of negative vetting 1 (secret). As a result of this requirement the incumbent must be an Australian Citizen, be able to pass an Australian Federal Police check and the ability to successfully pass a CASA Basic Class 2 pre-employment medical.

  • PUA20622 Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations) 
  • PUA30619 Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting and Emergency Operations) 
  • Hold a current HR drivers' licence
