Finance Manager FP&A

About the role: 

Due to internal promotion, we have an opportunity for a Finance Manager FP&A to join our team at Ventia. This role is incredibly diverse and will allow you to use your technical knowledge along with your stakeholder engagement and communication skills.  

Reporting to the Group Manager FP&A, you will be accountable for providing concise, accurate, and insightful analysis on the performance of the group to the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and wider business. The FP&A team is responsible for producing a robust annual budget and quarterly forecasts that align with Ventia’s strategy.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and understand the performance of the business, at the project, sector, and Group level.
  • Analyse risks and opportunities, identify trends and variances, and track and report on key financial and non-financial metrics. 
  • Prepare accurate and insightful commentary for monthly performance review for the Group, including profit and loss variances, work in hand, net working capital movements, cash flow, and balance sheet position.
  • Coordinate the annual budget, quarterly reforecast, and multi-year strategic plan updates for the Group. 
  • Support the half-yearly and annual external reporting process, including continuous disclosure obligations as required by ASX regulations.
  • Perform analysis to respond to ad-hoc queries from the CEO, CFO, ELT and wider stakeholder network. 
  • Drive and support the development of SAP, BPC, and Power BI reporting to increase automation, and improve the timeliness and quality of financial information.  

About you:

  • Tertiary level qualifications in a relevant discipline. 
  • CA or CPA qualification required.
  • Well-developed knowledge in financial accounting, reporting and analysis. 
  • Experience with SAP would be highly regarded as well as exposure to BPC and Power BI.
  • Experience with financial modelling and scenario analysis would be highly regarded.
  • A natural ability to link numbers with tangible business insights and present to a varied audience of technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications skills.
  • Confident in business partnering with senior Executive Leadership Team stakeholders.
