Finance Manager - Digital Transformation

About the role:

Join Ventia as a Finance Manager on our exciting new business optimisation project Evolve. This position will play a pivotal role in managing the financial aspects of the project ensuring alignment with the project objectives and financial targets. 

You will be responsible for ensuring costs associated with the project are managed, reported, budgeted, forecasted accurately and on time. Using your well developed business partnering skills you will be required to actively engage with the team and provide appropriate financial support and guidance to deliver effective outcomes for the project and the Ventia business.

Based at our Beautiful North Sydney head office right across the road from the train station we offer a flexible work atmosphere splitting your time in the office and work from home. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Deliver budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting providing financial insights.
  • Deliver monthly project financial analysis and report for Opex and Capex costs ensuring costs are valid accurate and within budget.
  • Manage and update financial models supporting business case including tracking benefits measurements.
  • Ensure key month end tasks including processing journals for the project are completed to quality standards in accordance with the timetable.
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations to ensure integrity.
  • Provide proactive business support to the project team as well as collaboration with other key internal stakeholders including the wider finance and digital services team.
  • Monitor and identify risks and opportunities, which increase compliance, reduce and eliminate waste and overall improvement of process. 

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • CA or CPA preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Exposure to working in digital transformation projects or project management.
  • High level competency with computer systems including the Microsoft package and other accounting software.
  • Experience in project accounting and financial management reporting.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
