Electrical Technical Officer
As an Electrical Technical Officer, you will provide technical oversight and support for electrical assets and systems across Ventia’s Defence contract. Working closely with HV technicians and the broader operations team, you’ll be a key escalation point for electrical compliance, audits, contractor support, and system integrity.
This is a permanent, full-time position based at Leeuwin Barracks in East Fremantle, with flexible work from home options – perfect for someone with a strong background in electrical work who’s ready to apply their expertise in a new setting.
To be considered for this position, you must be an Australian Citizen and willing to undergo a police check.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead technical compliance for electrical systems under contract obligations
- Provide technical support to operations and guide HV teams
- Manage system audits, record-keeping, and ensure legislative compliance
- Participate in asset condition monitoring and lifecycle assessments
- Support root cause investigations and report writing
- Assist with transitioning assets from build to operations (HOTO)
- Maintain electrical compliance registers and contribute to recovery planning
About you:
- Trade-qualified electrician, ideally with an engineering degree or strong field experience
- WA Electrical Contractor’s Licence (or eligible to obtain/transfer)
- Solid understanding of contract compliance, safety, and risk frameworks
- Comfortable with technical documentation, reporting, and stakeholder engagement
- Previous experience managing or operating an electrical business highly desirable
- Must be an Australian Citizen and eligible for Baseline Defence Security Clearance
