Core Services Maintenance Manager


An exciting opportunity to join Ventia’s Transurban motorways and tunnels network in a new key leadership position as the Core Services Maintenance Manager. This is an interfacing role leading a large team, some flexibility is required due to Transurban being a 24/7, 365-day operation.

About the Role
The role is responsible for planning and delivery of all maintenance in the scope of services including minor additional works in accordance with the agreed safety, time, quality and cost, including the monitoring and reporting against each. 

  • Build and maintain a collaborative and capable team to deliver maintenance and manage safety, commercial and operational risk effectively across the network
  • Develop and enhance strong working relationships with Transurban, including development and implementation of an established way of working with all interface teams and functions while driving performance, safety, inclusion and innovation
  • Plan and deliver all maintenance work as per the Scope of Services, CoMS, Annual Works Program and support of delivery for maintenance outlined in the Service Allocation Matrix
  • Prepare scopes of work and expectations to be issued to subcontractors, detailing scope, program and method of delivery
  • Prepare proposals to deliver core services and minor works and liaise with client to refine and evaluate scope and delivery
  • Implement effective controls and delivery processes to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery, including identifying core service efficiencies, subcontractor arrangements and Maximo data capture
  • Oversee delivery of core services ensuring tendered margins are achieved and works are delivered safely, and project specific outcomes achieved, including  technical specifications, program, traffic management, quality etc.
  • Accountable for profit and loss within the core services program and identify team growth opportunities to expand capability and capacity within the team and function forward works plan

Required Skills, Experience and Technical Competencies
Operational experience in road maintenance and network management including network maintenance teams and an understanding of Road Management  Act, Road Management Plan and inspection of works.

  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering
  • Construction white card
  • Demonstrated leadership (including safety), support and mentoring of leaders 
  • Resilience, personal drive and motivation
  • Strong enterprise, commercial acumen, risk management and report writing skills
  • Analytical and strategic thinking capability with sound project control
  • Demonstrated ability to manage maintenance works, order materials, order materials, test and monitor quality
  • Client engagement, negotiation and influencing skills
