Construction Manager

You will lead the team to deliver commercially successful outcomes for scope, time, budget and quality while meeting the project requirements, minimising risk and compliance with the CRC.

About the Role
As the Construction Manager you will set up early works, delivery and completion systems and processes and coordinate teams. You will monitor and report on productivity, drive performance and implement strategies to improve programme and margin in accordance with Company policies and the Project Management Plan. You are also the key contact and liaison between stakeholders on site and the direction of Project Managers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Business Development – strengthening relationships, encourage repeat work, maintaining expectations and delivery expertise
  • Project start up – cost estimates, construction methods, resources, procurement and integrated delivery systems
  • Scope Management – work with design and construction teams for methodology, process, plant and equipment requirements ensuring project quality, OHS, risk management, technical procedures, sequencing of trades, project milestones and contingency plans
  • Program Management – drive construction programming, development and implementation of various plans (resourcing, HSE, quality, improvement etc.) and subcontractor approvals and allocation, reporting, compliance and documentation
  • Cost and commercial management – set up work package cost models, identify cost minimisation strategies (labour/plant/equipment/materials/transport), manage subcontractor and supplier performance and variations, assist with client progress claims
  • QA and HSE – establish measurable performance indicators and compliance requirements, ensure HSE and critical risk protocols are understood and adhered to, monitor and ensure close out of non-conformances and defect rectification, ensure project hand over is in accordance with management plan and Company guidelines 


Required Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in construction, engineering, quantity surveying or similar (telecommunications experience beneficial)
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex engineering design documents
  • Sound understanding of construction contracts and Australian Construction Standards
  • Current drivers licence and construction white card.

You must be able to demonstrate experience in a similar position and be able to demonstrate-
