Communications Field Technician


About the role
Reporting to the Field Manager, the primary purpose of the Communications Field Worker will be to complete routine maintenance works within a Telecommunications network inclusive of fault response, this may include business hours and after hours call outs. We are seeking Expressions for interest for some upcoming work across any of the major Australian states. 

The role duties include, and are not limited to:

  • Surveying of sites for equipment picking, preparation and configuration
  • Fault response, diagnosis and repair of Telecommunications equipment
  • Installation and maintenance of racking, PDUs’, STSs’, UPSs’, WAPs’, Routers’
  • Installations of fibre patch panels, cabling, conduiting
  • Commissioning and Decommissioning of all relevant IT and Telcoms’ equipment with audit checklists and quality assurance documentation
  • Dispose securely or transport redundant equipment back to Venita state office

About you
To be successful in your application your experience will ideally include:

  • 3+ Years’ experience in a similar role
  • Sound understanding and experience of ICT equipment deployment, configuration and provisioning
  • Hands on approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work in a team and on your own

 You will also have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in IT and or Telecommunications (Ideal)
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence
  • Flexibility with working hours and availability to attend call outs as required
