Indigenous Advisory Board (IAB) 

Ventia’s Indigenous Advisory Board (IAB) provides advice to Ventia on delivering upon its Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) commitments and oversees development, monitor and review the effectiveness of Ventia’s actions and initiatives to contribute to the reconciliation process in Australia. 

The IAB Board consists of internal Ventia and external members.  Ventia now have a valuable opening for a Chair to lead Ventia’s IAB board.  

 As the Chair of the IAB, your responsibilities include the following:   

  • Challenge Ventia Management on Ventia’s strategies, activities and approach to the reconciliation process in Australia; 
  • Monitor performance of Ventia’s progress in meeting agreed goals and objectives, recommend solutions to address opportunities and monitor the reporting of performance. 
  • Provide strategic input into the development and implementation of Ventia’s reconciliation activities to support the process of closing the gap between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and non-Indigenous people 
  • Making recommendations to Ventia on a range of matters that may affect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees and communities that Ventia operates in. 

 Further Information: 

  • Attend quarterly meetings in Sydney or Melbourne  
  • Represent Ventia at key internal or external RAP activities or other initiatives under the direction of Management;  
  • The Chair annual renumeration is $25,000  
  • Associated travel and accommodation costs included  

Requirements:  

  • Held appointment(s) in Chair board positions.  
  • Hold Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) certificate.  
  • A broad range of commercial/business experience and its application to Indigenous cultural practices and values.
