Boilermaker - Olympic Dam


The Role
Ventia are looking for skilled and qualified Boilermaker/Welders with mining industry experience to support our ongoing maintenance contract. The successful candidate will become part of the team assisting BHP Billiton’s Olympic Dam operations, as well as other Ventia locations throughout Australia.

This is a permanent role with a primary roster of 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. However, flexibility is essential, as the position will cover shifts at Olympic Dam and other locations across Australia, as needed.

Flights from Adelaide to Roxby Downs (return) are included (flights from capital cities can be provided for suitable candidates). We also include meals and accommodation, while at site. 

Key tasks include (but are not limited to):

  • Pipe welding to code.
  • Tundish repairs.
  • Welding flanges. (below surface)
  • Bucket re-build/repair. 
  • Attachment crack repair. 

Requirements:

  • AUS/NZ recognised Boilermaker (equivalent) Trade qualification. (Required) 
  • Demonstrated post-trade experience in a similar role. (Required)
  • Current HR licence. (Required) 
  • Mine site experience. (Highly desirable)
  • High Risk Work Licence. (Highly regarded)
  • Ability to pass a weld test to Ventia supplied WPS.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol screening.
  • Hold a current/cleared Police Check (or be willing to complete a Police Check as part of the onboarding process).
