Asset Systems Specialist

Ventia’s North East Link project is seeking an experienced Asset Systems Specialist to join the team during the construction period (pre-operational phase). The role will focus on structuring and implementing IBM Maximo Application Suite and integration of digital systems as part of mobilisation and operational readiness activities for the organisation’s Asset Information Management System. You will lead the development of systems, asset data structures, and interface strategies during this phase, and will be responsible for managing Maximo and other digital engineering platforms throughout the Operations and Maintenance phase.
This is a permanent full-time position, with an attractive salary on offer. The role is based in Abbotsford during construction and then relocating to the future Motorway Control Centre (MCC) in Bulleen.
Key Duties
Pre-Operations Phase:
- Implement and configure IBM Maximo for asset management.
- Develop and structure asset data and digital integration strategies.
- Validate and import asset data from engineering and construction teams.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards (ISO 19650, ISO 55000, Austroads, Uniclass).
- Integrate Maximo with 3D models, GIS, and monitoring systems.
Operations Phase:
- Maintain and administer Maximo and mobility tools.
- Update 3D models for operational data.
- Train staff in Maximo and digital asset tools.
- Provide technical support and optimize asset lifecycle planning.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience configuring and managing IBM Maximo.
- Tertiary qualifications in IT, Science, or Engineering.
- Background in asset management for infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of GIS, BIM, and structured asset data systems.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and technical communication skills.
