Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the mighty Snowy Mountains Scheme, gas and diesel plants, and contracted wind and solar energy. We also provide electricity and gas to about 1 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy. Snowy 2.0 is Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. This nation-building project will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.

We are seeking an experienced Sustainability Manager to join our team, project manage the delivery of the ASRS ‘Sustainability Report' and other sustainability initiatives. This role will further ensure ASRS requirements are met and develop the future ongoing roadmap for the mandatory S2 – climate and the voluntary S1 sustainability disclosures of the ASRS.

You will be a proactive, ‘can do' manager with excellent project management, presentation, and collaboration skills to champion and drive success. Reporting to the General Manager of Sustainability, this will be a 2 year fixed-term role based in Sydney.

Further responsibilities include:

  • Leading the development of the organisation's response to ASRS and facilitating a compliant Sustainability Report in our FY26 Annual Report.
  • Developing and implementing the ASRS project plan in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Conduct a gap analysis of the risk and governance requirements of ASRS to identify and meet its key requirements.
  • Championing sustainability initiatives and integrating it into functional areas, policies and organisational strategy with a strong focus on using internationally recognised frameworks and peer reviews.
  • Collaborating and coordinating with internal groups to assess the financial, operational and reputational impact of climate change.
  • Monitoring the external environment on emerging trends, policy directions, industry standards and expectations in relation to sustainability.

We are looking for:

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the development and implementation of sustainability initiatives.
  • Detailed knowledge of or experience in sustainability methodologies and frameworks.
  • Previous experience in successfully delivering projects in large complex organisations.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams and influence decision-making at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop credibility and trust with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong background in communications, report writing and project management.
