The Snowy 2.0 project's innovative design involves linking Tantangara and Talbingo dams through tunnels spanning 27 kilometres and constructing an underground power station, to enable efficient water pumping between both dams. Snowy 2.0's closed-loop system optimises renewable resources by reusing water and leveraging excess solar and wind energy, ensuring maximum efficiency in Australia's renewable energy landscape.

The Location

The Role

Reporting to the General Manager of Excellence, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful, on-time delivery of the Snowy 2.0 Project. Responsible for leading and managing the project acceleration office, working closely with leadership to ensure the successful implementation of project acceleration initiatives.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Establishing and upkeep a PMO office, implementing robust frameworks, templates, and processes aligned with best practices to ensure external audit success.
  • Assisting with initiative leads in project management and business endeavours, facilitating the drive and execution of acceleration opportunities while aiding in the development of business cases and supporting materials for plans and funding acquisition.
  • Assisting project leadership in identifying and prioritising acceleration initiatives based on project requirements and anticipated impact levels.
  • Developing and maintaining a dynamic impact quantification model for initiatives, and conducting business and data analysis to identify root causes of complex issues, offering opportunities to de-risk and accelerate the program.
  • Assisting the GM of Project Acceleration,by providing progress reports and identifying issues warranting escalation and further investigation by senior leadership at Snowy 2.0.
  • Leading, coaching and developing team members to deliver project objectives, acheive individual performance & development goals.

You'll Bring To The Team:

A successful track record of leading transformation or project portfolio functions within large infrastructure mega projects, ideally in civil or hydro projects. With a Bachelor's degree in Business, Management or the like, you'll process strong leadership skills including the ability to manage teams of project and transformation professionals, influence decision-making across stakeholders, and coach and inspire others to drive change. Additionally, you'll have an execution-oriented mindset, proficiency in analytical problem solving, and excellent communication skills.
