About the position:

An exciting opportunity exists for a suitably qualified, motivated and driven Production Technician / Planner (Operator Maintainer) to join the team working at both the Colongra and HEZ Power Stations (Central Coast/Hunter based). We are looking for aProduction Technician / Plannerideally based in the surrounding suburbs of Colongra (or willing to relocate), to safely deliver the required availability and reliability of the plant in the most effective and efficient way to meet short-term and long-term business requirements. This will include using specialised plant knowledge to identify plant performance issues, develop and implement regional plant improvements, perform routine maintenance, manage site contractors’ works, operate the plant, provide planning support and effective controls in documentation, contractor management systems and processes.

This opportunity will be exciting for someone with a Electrical / Instrumentation Trade background, ideally with knowledge in gas and diesel power stations, gas turbines, operations, access requirements, and planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage approved work requests, prioritising and ensuring the information is accurate for creation into approved work orders
  • Develop, review and approve work packages to the standard required by the Plant Manager and team prior to scheduling of and execution of the work weekly
  • Develop, review and approve the regional masterwork plan including the integration of work planning and scheduling requirements for other business units and external parties
  • Monitor work management KPIs and take action to address improvements and issues highlighted
  • Proactively engage with stakeholders and cross functional teams to develop and manage a resource plan for the maintenance team
  • Engage contractors through the defined engagement process eg. pre-qualification, contracts, etc
  • Review Isolation/Restoration plans for the adequate addressing of identified risks and assist others with their development as necessary
  • Investigate and resolve plant faults / defects by undertaking root cause analysis
  • Complete routine and non-routine maintenance as per the maintenance plan inline with safety, procedural, and reliability requirements

About you:

  • A Electrical / Instrumentation Trade Qualification with minimum 5 years experience in plant reliability in heavy industry
  • Knowledge of maintenance program requirements, analysis techniques and maintenance management practices
  • Fault-finding & plant diagnostic skills along with a high understanding of plant reliability principles
  • Ability to participate in an on call roster with a callout response time of 1 hour
  • Strong computer literacy involving spreadsheets and statistical analysis
  • Demonstrated alignment with SHL’s Values and Behaviours
  • Ability to adjust effectively to change and to work within new structures, processes, requirements and cultures
  • Scheduling and planning skills, including the ability to work to a common process
