The Role
As a Procurement Specialist, you will manage key procurement activities, including supporting Principal Contractor procurement, overseeing subcontracting activities, and delivering direct procurement support. You will ensure compliance, efficiency, and alignment with Snowy Hydro's strategic goals, while working collaboratively with internal teams and external contractors.
Responsibilities include:
Principal Contractor Procurement Support (Pre-Award)
- Manage the delivery of a comprehensive Procurement Management Plan for key project packages (civil or electrical).
- Own and maintain the relationship with Principal Contractors, ensuring compliance with the SHL Procurement Management Plan.
- Review and monitor the Principal Contractor's Procurement Schedule and progress.
- Identify and implement improvement initiatives for procurement processes, templates, and procedures.
- Attend regular meetings to review the status and work progress.
- Oversee subcontracting activities, ensuring alignment with head contracts, including reviewing subcontracting plans, RFQ packs, and providing recommendations to minimise risk and maximise value.
Direct Procurement Support (Pre-Award)
- Develop and manage key contracts directly sourced by Snowy Hydro.
- Engage stakeholders to plan, negotiate, and execute contracts for goods, services, and works programs.
- Develop tender documents, evaluation tools, and manage supplier communications.
- Maintain adherence to tender deadlines and track progress.
- Manage the contract approval process in compliance with Snowy Hydro procurement standards.
- Contribute to the broader procurement team by providing guidance on procurement matters, collaborating on the procurement transformation roadmap, and driving continuous process improvements. Develop tools to track procurement progress and the project's pipeline while ensuring robust record-keeping throughout the lifecycle.
