A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Payroll Specialist to join our high performing Finance team. Reporting to the Payroll Manager you will be able to hit the ground running and provide a high level of customer service to all customers and stakeholders involved in the end to end payroll process.

This role is suitable for a detail driven individual, with a strong analytical mindset who will be responsible for ensuring Snowy Hydro employees are paid accurately and on time, every time.

Our ideal candidate will be a proactive, hands-on leader who inspires and motivates teammembers to achieve high performance. In collaboration with the People Services and Finance teams you'll ensure seamless payroll integration with other business functions, with a commitment to continuous improvement and a passion for professional development.

This role is a permanent, full time position that can, by mutual agreement, offer flexible working arrangements, as Snowy Hydro appreciates the additional value such arrangements can bring to our business and to our employees. The successful candidate can choose to work primarily from Melbourne, Sydney or Cooma.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Utilise SuccessFactors to manage payroll data to to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement, maintain accurate employee records and ensure timely end to end payroll processing
  • Manage/review superannuation contributions for employees, ensuring compliance with Accumulation and Defined Benefits Superannuation schemes
  • Assist with leading, mentoring, and developing payroll team members, fostering a collaborative, efficient and cohesive work environment through on going training and support
  • Provide expert guidance on payroll issues, ensuring clear communication and prompt resolution of concerns
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing payroll processes and implement strategies to continually improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Ensure all payroll activities comply with Australian regulations and internal policies and prepare and submit required payroll reports to regulatory bodies and internal management

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll management, with a proven record in a supervisory role
  • Extensive hands-on experience with SAP SuccessFactors (ECP & EC) in payroll processing with a focus on data accuracy and reporting
  • Strong understanding of Australian payroll regulations, legislation, and compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with Accumulation and Defined Benefits Superannuation schemes
  • Advanced MS Excel or Google Sheets skills for data analysis and reporting
