The Role

Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a new HSE Program and Insights Lead to oversee the program management of the HSE Strategic Plan and deliver high-quality HSE data analytics for the Snowy 2.0 Project. This role will work closely with project managers, health and safety leads, and the Principal Contractor to support the effective delivery of strategic initiatives and drive continuous improvement in HSE outcomes through proactive risk management.

This position is based in Cooma, and for those not based in Cooma, we offer relocation to support you with your move.

In this high-impact role, you'll:

  • Drive and embed the HSE Strategic Plan, working collaboratively with project leaders and the Principal Contractor to turn strategy into action.
  • Lead effective program management of HSE initiatives, audit findings, and improvement programs to ensure a proactive and consistent approach across the project.
  • Develop and implement smart data analytics and dashboards to identify trends, enhance visibility, and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Review and distill investigation reports to uncover root causes, contributing factors, and opportunities for learning and prevention.
  • Champion continuous improvement by monitoring corrective and preventive actions and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
  • Work alongside the HSE Systems Manager to evolve systems and incorporate key lessons learned.
  • Support operational and strategic HSE reporting, helping the team stay informed and agile.
  • Stay ahead of the curve, applying the latest thinking in safety practices, audit techniques, and regulatory developments.
  • Facilitate learning teams and audits that align with the HSE Assurance Program.

What You'll Bring

Demonstrated experience in safety, with experience in civil construction, utilities, or related industries. Strong skills in HSE program management, risk management with a focus on major hazards and critical controls, and safety auditing. Solid knowledge of WHS legislation, clear communication, and ability to influence and adapt. Experience with tools like Asana or Jira is a bonus.
