Are you ready to be part of a world-class project that’s reshaping Australia’s energy future? Snowy 2.0, the largest renewable energy initiative in the country, is an ambitious expansion of the iconic Snowy Scheme. Focused on providing on-demand power and vast storage capacity, this project is paving the way for a sustainable, low-carbon future.

The Role

Based in Cooma, this dynamic role puts you at the heart of the groundbreaking Snowy 2.0 project, where you'll take charge of all engineering aspects from start to finish. You'll drive the design development, ensuring every detail aligns with Snowy Hydro’s high standards, while overseeing construction, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning with precision. • Manage resources and workloads to meet engineering and assurance requirements.
  • Foster strong relationships through adaptable leadership and teamwork.
  • Drive collaboration and trust with stakeholders to resolve issues and achieve project success.

Review of Contractor's designs, technical assurance of construction and manufacturing activities

  • Prepare reports, deliver presentations, and update senior management on critical design and manufacturing risks.
  • Collaborate with engineering leaders and site teams to address key project challenges.
  • Lead the design development review process, ensuring timely and compliant execution.
  • Represent Snowy Hydro in contractor meetings, proactively resolving design, manufacturing, and construction issues.
  • Document project developments, solutions, and progress through reports and technical papers.

What You'll Bring

A tertiary qualification in civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering, combined with proven experience in generation, energy infrastructure design/construction, or a related industry. Deep technical expertise in hydropower infrastructure—from design and manufacturing to installation and commissioning—will be key to project success. Proactive and detail-oriented, with an ability to confidently navigate change, solve complex problems, and make strategic decisions with precision. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams. As a natural leader with solid managerial experience, you thrive in dynamic environments and embody Snowy Hydro’s core values.
