We're offering a pivotal, newly created role at the heart of delivering our iconic Snowy Hydro 2.0 Project. This isn’t just a leadership position; it’s an opportunity to shape the future of Australia’s largest renewable energy initiative. We’re looking for an experienced Construction Manager with a proven track record in managing construction, overseeing complex delivery processes, and collaborating with key delivery partners. Snowy 2.0 is a nation-defining project designed to deliver on-demand power and massive energy storage, propelling Australia toward a sustainable, low-carbon future.
This critical leadership role, based in Cooma with weekly site travel, will see the Construction Manager overseeing the construction of Snowy 2.0 across Lobs Hole, Marica, and Tantangara. Reporting to the Deputy Project Director, you will lead onsite operations, manage teams, and ensure the project stays on schedule, within budget, and meets quality and contractual standards. Relocation assistance is provided. This role involves ensuring contractor compliance with design, quality, and regulatory requirements, proactively addressing issues, guiding inspections and tests, and managing contractor performance against schedule, budget, and quality metrics. You will also foster strong relationships with key stakeholders like Voith and Future Generation, ensuring open communication and effective risk mitigation.
As a leader, you will set clear goals, provide feedback, and manage resources while maintaining project schedules, budgets, and safety standards. You’ll promote collaboration across all teams to ensure timely project delivery and the best outcomes for the project.
We're looking for a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) and demonstrated experience in managing major infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to successfully manage large-scale projects from start to finish. Strong interpersonal communication and negotiation skills are essential, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organisation, including senior management and executives, as well as collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders.
At Snowy 2.0, we live by the principle of “One Team Working Together.” If you’re a problem-solver with a passion for driving change and making a real impact, we want to hear from you. Join us in shaping the future of renewable energy—apply now and be part of delivering one of the most significant infrastructure projects in Australia’s history.
