The Role

The role of Project Manager – Transmission Connection is responsible for overseeing the Snowy Hydro/Lumea Project Agreement. This role will lead Snowy Hydro's efforts during the construction and commissioning phases of the transmission connection, including coordinating the initial energisation of the Snowy 2.0 Project.

The Location

This position is based at our Cooma Snowy Hydro 2.0 Project Office and includes site visit to the project. The work schedule is Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities include:

  • Understanding the Contract, including safety, environmental obligations, commercial terms, scopes of work, schedules, technical priorities, and operational interfaces for the Snowy 2.0 Main Works project.
  • Fostering collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to resolve conflicts and ensure effective, safe working relationships, including with site managers, construction overseers, and quality inspectors.
  • Performing Contract administration tasks, such as analysing contractual notices, managing EOT/VO claims, and monitoring schedules.
  • Assisting commercial staff in developing procedures to expedite contractual timeframes.
  • Chairing interface management meetings to address site boundary issues and coordinate project interfaces.
  • Implementing quality assurance procedures, including monitoring contractor reports, test results, and inspections.
  • Regularly assessing project progress against the schedule and key metrics, including site visits and discussions with the Contractor's project management.
  • Providing weekly reports to Snowy 2.0 stakeholders on safety, environment, and schedule aspects of the Transmission Connection project.
  • Meeting regularly with Snowy 2.0 Project Management to align project requirements with overall progress.
  • Communicating issues related to quality assurance and contractual compliance.

You'll Bring To The Team:

A degree in Engineering (civil or electrical) or Construction/Project Management, with demonstrated project management experience. This includes leading projects from start to finish, managing stakeholders, and understanding broader business drivers. Experience with TNSP contracts, knowledge of TransGrid PSSR, and familiarity with transmission line construction are highly valued. You should have excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently and prioritise effectively, and experience with complex infrastructure projects. Strong skills in managing external contractors and a commitment to a safe and positive workplace are essential.
