Project Coordinator

About Snowy:

Snowy Hydro is a dynamic, integrated energy business that has been providing on-demand, reliable energy to Australia for generations. Snowy Hydro owns and operates a powerful combination of generation assets, including the mighty Snowy Mountains Scheme, gas and diesel plants, and contracted wind and solar energy. We also provide electricity and gas to about 1.5 million retail customers through our retail brands Red Energy and Lumo Energy.

Snowy 2.0 is Australia’s largest committed renewable energy project. This nation-building project will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.

About the position:

We are currently seeking two experienced and motivated Project Coordinators to join the Technology team, to support the delivery of key initiatives across our operations— ideally one would be in Sydney, and the other in Cooma; hybrid working arrangements for the right candidate with an expectation of 2-3 days in the office. Will consider applicants based from the Melbourne Office.

As a Project Coordinator, you will work closely with project managers and stakeholders to ensure timelines, budgets, and objectives are met. This role is essential for ensuring smooth project operations, maintaining clear and consistent communication, and facilitating the efficient delivery of project objectives—on scope, on time, and within budget. You'll play a vital role in helping us deliver high-impact projects that make a real difference.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management Support: Assist in developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers. Support the creation of governance documentation and ensure adherence to project management standards.
  • Administrative and Tracking: Manage resource allocation, track project activities, process invoices, monitor expenses, and maintain project tracking systems (Jira, MS Project).
  • Coordination & Communication: Schedule and coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, and act as a central point of contact for project inquiries. Facilitate communication within the project team and with stakeholders.
  • Reporting: Prepare and distribute regular project status reports, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Risk & Issue Monitoring: Monitor project risks and issues, escalating as needed and assisting with mitigation strategies.

About you:

  • Holds a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Has 1-3 years of experience in project coordination, administration, or a support role, ideally within technology or IT.
  • Is proficient in project management software such as Jira and Microsoft Project.
  • Possesses a strong understanding of basic project management principles and methodologies.
  • (Preferred) Has a project management certification (e.g., CAPM, PRINCE2 Foundation).
  • Demonstrates exceptional organisational and communication skills.
  • Is a proactive, detail-oriented problem-solver.
  • Is a collaborative team player and adaptable.

About our workforce:
