Project Accountant

About the role:
 
Join Ventia as a Project Accountant in our Digital Services team. This position will be responsible for working closely with our Digital Services IT project managers to monitor project costs, analyse data, report on actuals, and prepare forecast and budgets for project spend.
 
Based at our Beautiful North Sydney head office right across the road from the train station we offer a flexible work atmosphere splitting your time in the office and work from home. 
 
What you’ll be doing:

  • Monthly reporting and review for IT Project portfolio providing analysis and insights. Including preparing and presenting financial reports, forecasts and recommendations to senior management
  • Responsible for  month end processes including opex vs capex costs, recharge and allocation of spend, P&L reporting on business performance and metrics.
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of R&O to drive favourable outcomes.
  • Rolling review to identify risk and proactively identify areas for continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a clean and compliant balance sheet with detailed reconciliations.
  • Forecasting and Budgeting partnering with project managers and other key stakeholders while ensuring compliance.

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • CA or CPA preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Exposure to working in digital services and IT projects.
  • High level competency with computer systems including the Microsoft package and other accounting software.
  • Exposure to SAP would be highly regarded.
  • Experience in project accounting.
  • Prior experience working within an ASX listed environment preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
