Planner


Opportunity:
Ventia are seeking an experienced ADF Unit Maintenance Planner to join our Defence Maintenance Contract (DMC) team at the RAAF Base Edinburgh. This role will be embedded within a Defence unit/s to ensure the seamless execution of efficient and effective planning, resource allocation, work order administration, procurement and monitoring of parts, and performance reporting.

What you will be doing:

  • Planning Australian Defence Force (ADF) network maintenance activities and programmed maintenance activities and operational programs.
  • Using the Commonwealth Mandated Information Systems (e.g. MILIS) for managing work orders, scheduling maintenance tasks, and requisitioning and managing parts.
  • Liaising with our Defence client to schedule weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance planning.
  • Ensuring clear and regular communication between the team, Defence members and APS staff, as well as a variety of external industry client contacts.
  • Contributing to continuous innovation by collaboratively identifying improvement initiatives; analysing and recommending improvements to current Ventia and Defence maintenance practices.
  • Generating and compiling reports, addressing any non-conformances in the processes, and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Performing regular process audits and developing analysis; Identifying and recommending improvements to Ventia and Defence safe work practices.

About you:

  • Previous experience in planning and scheduling mechanical maintenance activities within a complex industrial environment. (essential)
  • Trade or tertiary qualification in a mechanical or engineering field. (highly desirable) and/or:
  • Tertiary qualification in planning, scheduling, or related field (highly desirable)
  • Working knowledge of SAP (highly desirable)
  • Current Australian State or territory class C Driver's Licence. (essential)
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate records, schedules and reports, within information management systems.
  • A ‘can-do’, proactive approach to working within a large team environment. 
  • Experience (to an intermediate level) in the use of Microsoft Office 365 applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
  • Veterans / partners of Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.

Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. As a result of this requirement the applicant must be an Australian Citizen.
