Opportunity: Casual Food & Beverage Attendants – Support the US Marine Rotation in Darwin!
Ventia is calling all enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as casual Food & Beverage Attendants for the upcoming US Marine rotation in Darwin! These exciting roles will run from mid March to October, offering the chance to be part of a dynamic and fast-paced environment, supporting Defence Base Services.
You’ll be working on a rotating 7-day roster, which includes weekend shifts and the opportunity to cover busy breakfast, lunch, and dinner services, as well as vibrant functions during peak periods. If you're passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and thrive in a team setting, this is your chance to make a difference while gaining valuable experience!
As a key member of the Hospitality and Catering team, your responsibilities will include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet and Greet Defence personnel, ensuring a warm and welcoming environment
- Handle cash and EFTPOS transactions with precision and professionalism
- Maintain a clean and efficient kitchen, washing crockery, cutlery, glassware, and other equipment at the end of each shift
- Ensure all perishable items (bread, milk, etc.) are checked for best-before dates before service
- Keep the premises sparkling clean and hygienic at all times
- Deliver exceptional customer service with a positive and proactive attitude
- Assist with stock rotation, loading and unloading supplies, and maintaining stock levels
- Support inventory control for all kitchen supplies and equipment
- Ensure the HACCP program is adhered to and operational standards are met each day
Skills & Experience You Bring:
- Exceptional customer service skills – you love helping others and making their experience memorable!
- Previous hospitality and catering experience (preferred, but not essential)
- Defence experience is a plus, but not mandatory
- A driver’s license and your own transport
- Basic computer skills and experience with online rostering systems
