Electrician/Fire Technician – Ventia Wollongong

Ventia is currently seeking qualified and experienced Electrician/Fire Technician to join Ventia team in BlueScope, Port Kembla. Your primary responsibility involves statutory inspection, testing, fault finding and preventative maintenance of fire systems in accordance with AS1851. These include fire alarm systems, detection systems, evacuation systems, emergency lighting, performance of equipment and systems with BlueScope. To be considered for this role you will be required to demonstrate the following skills and experience. 
 

What will you do?

  • Conduct Maintenance work in accordance with work management procedures, plans and maintain productivity to meet job goals.
  • Actively reinforce, promote and improve the Contract culture.
  • Maintain knowledge in the procedures related to their assigned area.
  • Contribute to the development or improvement of procedures as required to execute work in a safe, efficient and timely manner.
  • Provide knowledge of procedures to enable resource teams to successfully complete their work in their area 
  • Ensure that the product / service provided meets the customer schedule / order / agreement requirements.
  • Identify, report and initiate possible solutions to problems in processes or systems.
  • Process and implement actions as per relevant corrective action / complaint reports under the direction of the Team Coordinator.
  • Initiate actions to prevent occurrences of any non-conformances relating to the process or systems through the Continuous Improvement System.
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement process

 Minimum requirements: 

  • Electrical Trade Qualifications
  • Current A Grade NSW Electrical Licence
  • Be well presented with effective communication skills

 The following will be highly desirable:

  • Practical experience as a Fire Systems Technician
  • Extinguishing Agent Handling Licence (entitlement 2 or 3) or willing to obtain
  • Inspect & Testing FPAS License or willing to obtain
  • Confined Space
  • EWP and Working at Heights
