About the Role
As a Chef at Ventia, you will play a vital role in supporting the Head Chef with the daily operations of Defence mess facilities. This includes preparing and delivering routine meals and catering for mess functions. You will ensure food safety standards are upheld, contribute to inventory and stock control, and maintain a clean and efficient kitchen environment. Your work will directly support Defence Force personnel and contribute to the success of essential services.
This is a full-time role based on the beautiful HMAS Cerberus Defence Site in Mornington.

About You
You are a qualified and experienced chef with a passion for delivering high-quality food services in a large-scale kitchen environment. You bring:
- A Commercial Cookery qualification (Australian recognised).
- HACCP Level 2 certification and strong knowledge of food safety standards.
- At least 2 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen.
- Excellent planning, organisational, and communication skills.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work flexibly in complex environments.
- Australian citizenship (required for Defence Security Clearance).
- A commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
