Category Manager


Ventia now have a growth opportunity for a Category Manager to join our Procurement team in a full-time permanent role based in Sydney or Melbourne.

Do you have a strong Category Management background in Facilities Management with demonstrated achievements in developing and implementing category strategies, significant supplier market engagement and managing supplier performance under existing contractual arrangements?
This position will see the successful candidate contributing to the strategic direction and growth of the Ventia business.

What you'll do:

  • Deep understanding of financial, commercial, and regulatory cost drivers providing advice on the business implications of costs/ benefits to ensure the outcomes are aligned to the organisation’s strategic goals
  • Influencing and mobilising key stakeholders to deliver impactful change
  • Use initiative, industry knowledge and best practice concepts to develop and execute category and sourcing plans
  • Support bid teams and the acquisition of new business through the provision of effective and current outline agreements, rate cards and contracts
  • Overall spend controlled and managed under contract



What we are looking for:

  • MUST have experience as a category management in a large complex organisation, preferably in a similar organisation or industry sector
  • Possesses extensive knowledge of the category including industry players, emerging trends, and competitive strategies
  • Confident to present to senior internal stakeholders and external regulator
  • Understanding of strategic drivers and how to link to goals and performance in the business
