This permanent role leads the regional implementation of the Water Corporation’s Drinking Water Quality (DWQ) Management Framework to ensure the provision of safe drinking water to our customers.

As part of a small team, this role offers a transparent management style and values working as one through sharing and developing knowledge and expertise in our most important resource, water.

What you can expect with this role

  • Develop and implement DWQ monitoring programs to ensure the provision of safe drinking water.
  • Undertake and support water quality investigations, site inspections, catchment management strategy reviews, water safety plan development and internal and external process audits.
  • Manage the performance reporting process within the region along with the ongoing review of variances and trends to identify and coordinate actions in response to risks to water source compliance.
  • Identify Drinking Water Quality Incidents, assist Water Quality business unit with investigations, and coordinate the regional response and reporting.
  • Support the Incident Manager and lead response activities relating to Drinking Water Quality Incidents
  • Identify, assess and report hazards and risks in DWQ catchments, water treatment plants, distribution and reticulation systems and support development of relevant contingency plan and actions to mitigate risks.
  • Lead the response to water quality enquiries and complaints from external customers.

Your skills and experience

For this role, we are looking for great talent with:

  • Tertiary qualification in environmental science, engineering or science and considerable experience in drinking water quality management and catchment management.

OR

  • Extensive experience in drinking water quality management and catchment management.
  • Knowledge of the requirements of the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and incident management processes
  • Relevant experience in water operations and/or natural resources management
