As a Technical Advisor – Water you will assist in the management of Public Drinking Water Source Area Catchments in the Perth metropolitan area, which is approximately 4000sqKm, and provide environmental expertise in Source Protection Administration and operational services.

You will be part of an organisation who help protect the metropolitan water sources and provide safe drinking water to the people of Perth.

As residents of this beautiful state, we all have the right to safe drinking water. It is crucial to prevent, minimise or manage the risks of contamination in our catchments as this provides greater surety than removal of contaminants by other barriers such as treatment. The size and diverse climate of WA means that the Water Corporation is responsible for the management of around 120 surface and groundwater drinking water sources from the tops of the Kimberley Region to the southern end of Albany, and far and wide in between.

Discover more benefits we offer to support the unique and individual ways our employees live.

Work in a team of six technical advisors with a focus on source protection. This is a very cohesive supportive team who come to work excited about what value they bring to the corporation and the greater community. We are looking for someone with aligned values who is like-minded to join this bunch.

With a strategic eye for continuous improvement, you are always looking for better solutions through data collection, management, and trends. You are open to finding new technology that will help us do our work better within source protection.

Having a GIS background, you are experiences in writing reports.

You will work with state government agencies and stakeholders to ensure land uses and public access within the metropolitan catchments is not having negative impacts on our water quality.

Other aspects of the role will primarily be:

Implementation of policies, procedures, and standards for catchment operations

Identify and contribute to the resolution of key issues in water source protection

Monitor, analyse and review catchment management strategies
