Water Industry Operator

Job no: 1348

Category: Maintenance, Operations & Reliability

Friendlier work / life balance (Northam) – No FIFO, home every evening

Grow your career by learning new skills and gaining qualifications in water

Permanent position

Lack of opportunities to use your skills?

Given half a chance, you know you could do more with your background and talent. You’ve spent considerable time learning a great set of skills, so it’s only right you put them to better use.

Reigniting your career as a Water Operator will not only add a nationally recognised qualification to your belt, but you’d also be learning a set of extra skills that could have you on your way to a senior technical or leadership role. Your plumbing qualification would be extremely advantageous.

How would you use your skills?

As a Water Operator, you’re regularly outdoors. You will be repairing water and wastewater assets within the Goldfields and Agricultural Region.

Main concern is keeping your district’s water supply network running. That will be pipe repairs, chlorinator maintenance including chemical replenishment, water service installs and disconnections. It will also be understanding how these networks help your community get access to clean running water every day.

You will be playing a big part in maintaining some of the 56,800km of pipelines that stretch across WA.

Mix in a supportive, family-friendly culture, a healthy starting salary, and a stack of fantastic benefits - and you will have just found yourself a career with Water Corporation.

What you’ll need to apply

You will be doing some driving, so a WA MR class driver’s licence will be essential. If you’ve got a high-risk licence, confined space cert and/or a construction white card, you’ve probably got some experience working outdoors. That’s a good thing.

No water experience? No problem. It is our opportunity to develop you into a confident and expert operator.

Apply: If you are interested in the above opportunity please submit a covering letter and resume that best demonstrates your ability to meet the requirements of the role.

As part of the recruitment process you may be required to complete Pre-Employment screening which may include a medical, qualification check, police clearance and Australian working rights check.

Applications close 29th of January 2025

We reserve the right to withdraw this ad prior to the closing date.
