About the role

Our Asset Investment Planning team have a permanent opportunity for a Team Leader - Metro Water Conveyance Integration to manage the delivery of planning activities for our water networks across Perth metropolitan. Leading this team, you’ll set the criteria for standards, provide expert consulting and technical advice, manage technology development, application and process design. This role will be based in our Leederville office reporting to the Manager Assets Metro Networks.

What the role will involve

  • Provide subject matter expertise and planning consulting advice within Water Corporation on water networks planning to enable development and continuous improvement of best practice systems and tools
  • Optimise water network planning considering alternate source portfolio to meet customer outcomes that are best for business, customer, community and WA
  • Lead water network planning development and innovation throughout the planning stages of new and/or modified assets
  • Lead planning investigations and assign tasks to team members to optimise and improve the performance of existing water networks including considerations of operability and contingencies
  • Represent Asset Investment Planning on nominated Water Corporation design standards committees to govern the adoption, implementation and updating of standards
  • Support the Manager Assets with representing Water Corporation in consultations and negotiations with government agencies, local authorities, Water Services Association of Australia, industry bodies, consultants, developers and stakeholders
  • Oversee, review and approve in-house, and consultant, planning deliverables for Water Networks Planning to ensure conformity to customer requirements and the Corporation’s standards
  • Prioritise and manage Water Networks Planning activities to ensure supply and demand outcomes can be achieved through our water conveyance networks
  • Allocate work to team members and monitor performance and progress against work plans including reporting
  • Engage with stakeholders collaboratively to determine best for business outcomes

Key skills and experience

You’ll have a degree level qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, with substantial experience in planning, project delivery, operations or engineering for provision of utility water networks. Your demonstrated leadership, knowledge of water networks planning, and ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders, senior management and regulators will ensure success in this role.
