About the role

In this important role, you will lead procurement, tactical sourcing and supplier operations related to management of goods and service to the Corporation to meet its business needs in a timely and effective manner.

We’re looking for a superstar to mentor our Tactical Procurement team in navigating their journey to the tactical sourcing whilst ensuring sustainable and continuing procurement performance improvement and best practice.

About you:

There are a few things that we’ll look for in your CV;

  • Tertiary level qualification in a business related discipline and / or extensive Procurement experience in a large multi-disciplined engineering focussed commercial organisation
  • Substantial experience in purchasing and supplier management strategies, plans, programs and systems, including the sourcing, planning and managing contracts and agreements for a range of goods, services and works
  • Considerable experience and demonstrated advanced knowledge of the commercial management of Procurement.
  • Demonstrates well developed knowledge and understanding of contemporary Procurement management theory and practice, including advanced understanding of electronic trading applications and processes.
  • Demonstrates capability in developing and applying tactical and operational procurement frameworks.
  • Capable as a member and can manage multi-disciplined teams to foster sound relationship management and to enhance joint business capability.

What the role will involve

  • Participate in and contribute to the development and implementation of procurement change initiatives to ensure sustainable and continuing procurement performance improvement and best practice.
  • Lead the procurement planning, commercial sourcing advice and purchasing support to ensure alignment with broader sourcing strategy and procurement road map.
  • Lead commercial sourcing advice, support and guidance to the business and direct reports to ensure alignment to the Corporations commercial sourcing strategy.
  • Identify, source, plan, develop and manage panels of preferred supplier agreements and period contracts for the procurement of tactical services, consultancy, labour hire and travel at a tactical level to support Capital Works projects.
  • Initiate and analyse Corporate spend of goods and services for consolidation.
  • Influence the customers’ business planning activities to ensure the supply chain process is recognised understood and implemented.
  • Identify and collaborate with major suppliers and contractors who can provide goods and services to meet the Corporation’s on-going needs, ensuring they are technically and commercially capable of providing and trading through e- procurement systems.
