About the role:

We have a Permanent full-time opportunity within our Data & Analytics team, for a Spatial Solutions Analyst to support the organisations GIS capability. In this role, you will provide GIS consulting services and technical advice, and apply GIS best practice to build and implement Geospatial solutions. You will also support the research, development, evaluation, and implementation of current and emerging spatial technologies, to ensure effective use and optimisation of our Geospatial platforms.

This role will be reporting to the Manager – Spatial Solutions.

About you:

There are a few things we would like to see in your CV;

The ideal person will have substantial experience in providing spatial analysis and visualisation, developing innovative solutions to meet the needs of customers. You will have a degree in Geography, Geographic Information Management or Computer Science, along with experience in geographic information systems and data management products (ArcGIS & FME essential, Python is desirable). Your demonstrated ability to improve business processes or operations using spatial data and geographic information systems will ensure future success.

Some of the things you’ll be doing include but not limited to:

  • Provide technical expertise in spatial data management and data services, geospatial reporting, analysis and representation of location information in a spatial environment to achieve required business outcomes
  • Produce spatial, cartographic and 3D visualisation products to solve business problems via innovative solutions
  • Develop, implement and maintain geospatial solutions to efficiently deliver business outcomes
  • Design spatial data solutions and deliver spatial data products to meet the data needs of the business, it’s stakeholders and collaborating partners
  • Source, capture, analyse and present relevant spatial data using corporate systems and specialist applications to create location information to support data-driven decision making
  • Deliver problem solving solutions by identifying the need, establishing scope of work and assessing impacts
  • Provide advice and customer service on the use of GIS, spatial data management, location information to business units, capital projects and external partners
