About the role

We have a permanent opportunity for a Principal Engineer - Geotechnical specialising in geotechnical engineering to join our dynamic Design Dams & Conveyance team. This pivotal role involves shaping the future of Western Australia's water infrastructure, ensuring safety, efficiency, and sustainability across our operations. As a leader in your field, you will be instrumental in driving innovative solutions for geotechnical challenges within complex projects.

What the role will involve

  • Providing technical leadership on geotechnical engineering across a diverse range of water infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex geotechnical issues and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Developing and reviewing designs, specifications, and reports to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Leading risk assessments and offering expert guidance to ensure project safety and reliability.
  • Supporting the professional growth of the engineering team through mentorship and sharing expertise.

Key skills and experience

You’ll have a degree level qualification in an engineering discipline either Civil or Geotechnical, along with considerable geotechnical engineering experience. You’ll also have the proven ability to lead complex projects, delivering technical solutions and managing multidisciplinary teams. Expertise in geotechnical investigations, analysis, and design for infrastructure projects is highly desirable. You will also have a strong knowledge of relevant Australian standards, codes, and regulations. Additionally, you will have exceptional communication and leadership skills.
